TRAINER: LIMPOPO

The AIDS Consortium is one of the largest NGO networks in South Africa, serving over 1000 affiliated members in the HIV and AIDS sector. We drive social change through building capacity and AIDS competence across our network, as well as within the sector.  A firm Human Rights approach underpins all our work.

The successful incumbent will report to the Provincial Co-ordinator, working closely with the National Training Manager and broader Training Team and allocated affiliated Community-Based Organisations. The following attributes are required:  

  • Experience in training communities / CBOs – 2 years
  • Experience and interest in Organisational Development
  • Experience in mentorship, coaching and assessment 
  • Experience in HIV and AIDS, treatment literacy and related issues
  • Passion for Community development
  • Affinity with goals & objectives of the AIDS Consortium, National Strategic Plan and SANAC
  • Excellent facilitation skills
  • Fluency in at least two South African languages
  • A valid driver’s licence, and ability to travel extensively is a pre-requisite
  • Willingness to learn and grow
  • Ability to apply self learning
  • Accreditation, NQF and SAQA experience an advantage
  • Assessor qualification an advantage
  • Report writing skill
  • MS Office Proficiency
  • Relevant Qualification

ADVANCEMENT OFFICER

The AIDS Consortium is one of the largest NGO networks in South Africa, serving over 1000 affiliated members in the HIV and AIDS sector. The AIDS Consortium seeks to appoint an Advancement Officer at its national office in Braamfontein, Johannesburg to support the organizational development and sustainability of the organization, with the main objective of securing long-term funding. The Advancement Officer will be appointed on a 20 hour week, part-time basis, and will report to the Executive Director, working closely with the Management Team .


Key Performance Areas:

·         Develop a sustainability strategy

·         Identify new funding opportunities for AC programmes

·         Support the establishment and management of relationships with prospective and new donors

·         Preparation and submission of funding proposals

·         Secure new long term funding contracts for The AIDS Consortium

·         Tracking, preparation and submission of donor reports

·         Manage the donor base

·         Develop and implement a system for monitoring, evaluation and reporting of funding utilization

·         Develop AC capacity for monitoring, evaluation and reporting of funding utilization

 

Skills, experience and knowledge required:

  • Commitment to the aims and objectives of The AIDS Consortium
  • A post graduate qualification in Community Development, Social Sciences, Monitoring and Evaluation or related field
  • At least 5 years of experience working within the non-governmental environment
  • Good knowledge of the local and international funding environment
  • Experience in liaising with donors
  • Experience with budgeting and financial planning
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Proven ability to develop and sustain good relationships with key stakeholders
