Objectives
- To keep affiliates
updated on current issues around HIV/AIDS
- To respond to
affiliates needs for information on HIV/AIDS as they arise
Monthly
IRP workshop
These
workshops are organised by the AC staff to respond to request for information
from the affiliates. The focus of these workshops is to provide information
to CBOS and individuals working in the HIV/AIDS service. The content
for the training is informed by the current issues on HIV/AIDS; requests
for information from the affiliates; questions handled by the library
and resource centre about HIV/AIDS, and the theme focus of the AIDS
CONSORTIUM for that month.

Time:
3 – 4 hours
Examples
of trainings conducted in the past are:

Income generation – skills share workshops (engaging local
specialists to conduct local entrepreneur activity to generate income)

Food
Garden – skills share workshops (engaging local specialists
to conduct food garden activity for food security and to generate
income)

Basic
capacity building workshops – basic financial accounting,
administration, fundraising, governance, report writing, presentations
and NPO registration.

Social
Grants –community based specialist provide information on
knowing your rights, lost certification, procedures for applications
and problem solving.

PWA’s
– access to treatment, wellness, social grants and medical
schemes
- Human
rights – raising
awareness of human rights and helping participants identify human
right violations
- HIV
and gender – highlighting
gender inequity as a driver of HIV
- Basic
HIV with targeted minority groups – refugees, gender-based
violence survivors
